Key Responsibilities:The selected candidate will oversee various projects and lead personnel to support the growth of our Construction Services.
- Possess a robust background in Construction and Contract Administration, with the ability to cultivate, manage, and guide a team of field professionals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of design standards, while generating business opportunities and expanding WSB's market presence.
- Provide comprehensive project management, oversight, and administration for a diverse range of construction projects and contracts at Federal, State, County, and City levels.
- Engage in proposal development, staff scheduling, and management tasks.
- Conduct both office and field contract administration duties, including plan development, budget oversight, schedule management, and quality assurance.
- Interact with clients, contractors, public agencies, and private owners, ensuring a thorough understanding of contracts, plans, and construction documents.
- Possess familiarity with State and Federal Contract Administration processes and procedures.
- Join WSB's Construction and Design Build Services Group, contributing to successful project delivery while conducting field visits to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Participate in various project delivery methods, including Design Build, CMGC, ID/IQ, and conventional Bid/Build projects, fostering career growth in a supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, with licensure in Minnesota or the ability to obtain it within six months; or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management with four years of relevant experience; or over ten years of experience managing highway, bridge, and related projects.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Preferred candidates will have ten or more years of experience, including knowledge of material properties, MnDOT specifications, and contract administration practices, along with prior design/build experience.
- Experience in project management, client relations, and staff oversight, with a willingness to travel as necessary.
- The physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Candidates must be prepared to work in various weather conditions and be capable of lifting between 50 lbs. and 75 lbs. periodically. The role requires hands-on work, including stooping, kneeling, and navigating uneven terrain.
