Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. The LPN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective and safe care delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing nursing principles and practices as defined by regulatory standards.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of assigned patients and documenting findings accurately.
  • Prioritizing patient care based on individual needs and progress towards recovery.
  • Updating and revising care plans in accordance with established protocols.
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Documenting patient interventions and monitoring progress towards established goals.
  • Communicating any significant laboratory results to the appropriate healthcare team members.
  • Taking initiative in executing care plans and following through on physician orders.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Active Kentucky practical nurse license or a compact license valid in Kentucky.
• Completion of a practical nursing program from an accredited institution.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider.

Preferred Qualifications
• At least one year of experience in a relevant patient care setting.
