Position Overview

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Manager to enhance our dynamic firm. This role entails overseeing various tax, audit, and related projects as assigned by the Principal or Partner. The Manager is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, emphasizing the supervision and development of Staff and Senior Accountants, independent problem-solving, and fostering strong client relationships while contributing to the firm's profitability. Some roles may offer remote or hybrid work options based on operational requirements. Please consult with your recruiter regarding available arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take charge of client engagements, including planning, staffing, scheduling, technical considerations, and other critical decisions. Ensure the successful completion of engagements by identifying and addressing challenges with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of engagements.
  • Guide and mentor Supervisors, Senior Accountants, and Staff, focusing on technical education, identifying growth opportunities, and maintaining a respectful team environment.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations for assigned staff and manage performance discussions.
  • Assist Principals and Partners in identifying and pursuing new client opportunities.
  • Leverage technical expertise to create high-value opportunities for clients.
  • Enhance the Firm's reputation by participating in conferences, contributing to publications, attending recruitment events, and conducting training sessions.
  • Understand the importance of promoting the Novogradac brand by nurturing collegial relationships with Partners, employees, clients, and prospects.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Advance skills in the Firm's focus areas by seeking relevant training opportunities.
  • Boost office profitability by managing your time and that of Staff and Senior Accountants effectively, contributing innovative ideas, and adding value.
  • Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Possess a deep understanding of accounting and tax regulations.

  • Deliver work accurately and efficiently with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Accept constructive feedback from the Partner group and adjust accordingly.
  • Collaborate effectively to foster a productive, team-oriented environment.
  • Possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and report writing tools.
  • Maintain professionalism with colleagues and clients.
  • Gain the trust of the existing Partner group.
  • Meet internal deadlines related to time entry, billing, etc.
  • Be available for evening and weekend work as needed and travel domestically if required.
Educational Background

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred (an advanced degree is advantageous), along with 5-8 years of experience in public accounting or a suitable combination of education and experience. A CPA license is mandatory.
