Overview:
The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and reporting of internal audits within the organization, directly reporting to the Chief Audit Officer. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, and compliance with applicable regulations affecting the organization. Furthermore, this role includes overseeing the internal audit team's activities to ensure the effective functioning of the internal audit process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and execution of the annual internal audit strategy, identifying critical areas for audit based on risk evaluation and collaborating with management to establish audit goals.
  • Lead and manage the execution of internal audits, ensuring they are conducted in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to the standards set by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
  • Prepare and deliver audit reports to management and the Supervisory Committee, highlighting findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor the resolution of audit findings and recommendations with management to ensure prompt action.
  • Supervise the internal audit team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and adherence to departmental policies.
  • Stay informed about regulatory and industry developments related to internal auditing and compliance.
  • Provide expert advice to management on matters concerning internal controls, financial reporting, and compliance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of organizational operations, including lending, investments, deposit services, and regulatory compliance.
  • Awareness of organizational risks such as credit risk, operational risk, and compliance risk.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls assessment and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in data analysis, trend identification, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in relationship management, team leadership, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in internal auditing, with at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
  • Experience in organizational environments similar to The Ladders is advantageous.
