Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic who is adept in the installation, operation, and maintenance of various ventilation and air conditioning systems, ranging from small ventilators to large rooftop units.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze, repair, and maintain multiple aspects of refrigeration systems, including mechanical, electrical, and piping issues. This role encompasses responsibilities in residential, commercial, and research environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Address mechanical, electrical, and gas-related issues in gas-fired furnaces, boilers, and rooftop units.
- Troubleshoot complex control issues in non-refrigeration systems such as vacuum systems, fluid pumping systems, air compressors, dryers, humidifiers, steam heating systems, and pressure reducing stations.
- Perform physical tasks including standing, lifting, bending, and carrying weights of 50 pounds or more, with potential lifting requirements exceeding 100 pounds.

Work Environment:
The position may require overtime work and shift assignments as determined by management. You may also be required to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond to management's scheduling at any time, regardless of weather conditions. Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions, extreme temperature changes, and loud noises may occur. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided for workplace use, and adherence to safety requirements is mandatory.

Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant work experience, with at least two years in heating and air conditioning repairs, maintenance, or installation.
- Proficiency in electrical controls troubleshooting using manufacturer's schematics.
- Valid EPA Refrigerant Usage Card obtained within one year of hire.
- Valid driver's license for operating required vehicles.

Preferred:
- Vocational/Technical degree in HVAC or related field.
- Four years of relevant work experience in heating and air conditioning repairs, maintenance, or installation.
