Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with our team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Develop and deliver continuing education topics to Instrument Techs, serving as a liaison to ensure effective communication and equipment maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with Biomedical Services to ensure timely repair and maintenance of equipment, promoting a safe and efficient surgical environment.
  • Educate staff on the proper care and handling of instrumentation and equipment, fostering a culture of excellence and quality.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required, with a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in at least three different specialty areas, with a strong understanding of supply costs and quality of care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
