Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with local operations management to clarify project requirements.
- Conduct thorough research to identify cost components related to construction, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Assess potential risks and formulate contingency plans for projects.
- Draft comprehensive proposals that outline clarifications, exceptions, and assumptions.
- Present finalized proposals to senior management for review and risk evaluation.
- Deliver approved bids to clients by the specified deadlines.
- Act as the primary contact for business development with clients and vendors.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team on significant customer projects.
- Maintain effective communication with current clients to foster relationships.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities and follow up on leads.
- Support regional business units by pursuing assigned leads.
- Document essential discussion points during meetings.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of project scopes, construction methodologies, timelines, and client expectations.
- Pose relevant questions to clients and accurately record their responses.
- Visit project sites to evaluate conditions and assess feasibility.
- Provide necessary documentation to field operations and project management teams.
- Participate in pre-planning meetings for contracts.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of project deliverables as per contractual obligations.
- Identify and propose solutions for potential construction challenges to minimize costs and risks.
- Support field teams in developing change orders as required.
- Facilitate positive resolutions for any disputes with clients.
- Maintain organized records to support estimate figures.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree along with 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with B2W Estimate Software.
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing documents and files.
- Strong technical writing and correspondence abilities.
- Capability to interpret blueprints and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Self-driven and motivated.
- Adaptability to changing environments.
- Capacity to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
This role is subject to federal drug and alcohol testing regulations.
