Job Overview

The Human Rights Compliance Officer is responsible for executing thorough and impartial investigations to ascertain whether claims of misconduct or discrimination breach established organizational policies, ethical standards, legal statutes, or Human Rights regulations.

Salary Range

Compensation is set between $70,000 and $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of experience in conducting investigations related to equal opportunity and human resources, which includes engaging with senior officials and demonstrating outstanding analytical and report-writing capabilities.

Essential Qualifications
  • A degree from an accredited four-year institution in Human Resources Management, Paralegal Studies, Pre-Law, Criminology, Social Sciences, or any Behavioral Sciences; a Juris Doctor is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in interpreting civil rights laws and regulations, performing investigative tasks in the human rights sector, or mediating disputes and negotiating resolutions in the human rights domain.
  • Experience in conducting internal investigations within a corporate, governmental, or military context, engaging with personnel at all organizational levels, and synthesizing information from diverse sources to present findings clearly in writing.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Certification such as PHR/SPHR in Human Resource Management is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and analyze evidence, documents, and other relevant materials concerning allegations of misconduct or discrimination.
  • Develop interview questions and conduct interviews with all parties involved, including respondents, complainants, and witnesses.
  • Summarize recorded interviews in written format.
  • Draft formal communications to involved parties, including notices and requests for information.
  • Assess evidence and established facts to determine the existence of reasonable cause, documenting findings in an Investigative Report for legal review.
  • Communicate findings of the Investigative Report following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of case activities and documentation in the case management system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
