Professional Land Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Land Surveyor to join our team at LDC. As a key member of our Land Development department, you will be responsible for drafting survey documents, managing timelines, and interfacing with clients, contractors, and field/office personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Survey Document Preparation: Draft and prepare survey documents, including Record of Surveys, A.L.T.A. surveys, Short Plats, Long Plats, Final Plats, and Final Condominium Plats.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and schedules, working closely with the Director of Land Surveying to develop project scopes and schedules.
- Client Communication: Develop working relationships with LDC clients, ascertaining their true needs and anticipating potential problems.
- Boundary Research: Research legal and survey records to obtain information about property boundaries, including deeds, easements, vacations, dedications, right of ways, riparian rights, etc.
- Topographic Mapping: Perform topographic mapping and construction staking preparation.
- Instrument Operation: Operate and maintain Leica Robotic Total Stations and GPS equipment.
- Education: Current Washington State Professional Land Surveyor registration, multi-state preferred.
- Experience: 8 years minimum field/office surveying experience in land development and construction projects, with experience working with local municipalities in the Puget Sound region.
- Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of Washington State survey standards, Washington State Revised and Administrative Codes, and the federal Public Lands Survey System.
- Software: Proficient in Civil3D, Land Development Desktop, and Office programs, including Word, Excel, etc.
- Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to recognize and solve complicated problems.
- Customer Service: Recognition that LDC's clients always come first, and that customer service is paramount.
