Job Description

FutureRecruit is seeking a highly skilled Land Surveyor to join our team in Seattle, WA. As a key member of our Land Surveying department, you will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing survey reports, and providing expert advice on land boundary issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Survey Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze survey data, including field notes, sketches, and digital data, to prepare accurate and detailed survey reports.
  • AutoCAD Drafting: Draft line work in AutoCAD from collected survey data, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Research and Record Analysis: Research legal and survey records to obtain information about property boundaries, including deeds, easements, vacations, dedications, right of ways, riparian rights, etc.
  • Topographic Mapping and Construction Staking: Perform topographic mapping and construction staking preparation, working closely with field and office personnel.
  • Survey Report Preparation: Prepare Record of Surveys, A.L.T.A. surveys, Short Plats, Long Plats, Final Plats, Final Condominium Plats, Boundary Line Agreements, Boundary Line Adjustments, easement exhibits, and other documents required for project completion.
  • Boundary Resolution: Resolve boundaries using accepted boundary and legal principles and case, state, and federal laws.
  • Project Management: Work closely with the Director of Land Surveying to develop project scopes and schedules, and develop, track, and maintain project budgets.
  • Client Relationships: Develop working relationships with LDC clients, ascertaining their true needs and anticipating potential problems.
Requirements:
  • Professional Land Surveyor Registration: Current Washington State Professional Land Surveyor registration, with multi-state registration preferred.
  • Field/Office Surveying Experience: 8 years minimum field/office surveying experience in land development and construction projects.
  • Land Development Project Experience: Land development project experience specific to the Puget Sound region.
  • Local Municipality Experience: Experience working with local municipalities, including King/Snohomish/Pierce counties.
  • Driver's License: Valid Washington State driver's license, including a clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Survey Standards Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Washington State survey standards.
  • Revised and Administrative Codes Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Washington State Revised and Administrative Codes.
  • Federal Public Lands Survey System Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the federal Public Lands Survey System.
  • Boundary Principles Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of boundary principles and applicable laws and statutes.
  • Municipal and State Design Standards Knowledge: Knowledge of municipal and state design standards and codes.
  • Land Surveying Principles Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Land Surveying.
  • Civil3D and Land Development Desktop Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Civil3D and Land Development Desktop (Knowledge of Inroads/MicroStation a plus).
  • Office Programs Knowledge: Knowledge of Office programs: Word, Excel, etc.
