About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team at Texstar Enterprises, Inc. As a Fiber Splicer, you will play a critical role in the construction and maintenance of telecommunications outside plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fiber splicing tasks as part of the construction of telecommunications outside plant, ensuring that work is completed to the required standards.
  • With guidance, splice overhead, underground, or submarine multiple conductor cables.
  • Climb utility poles or towers, utilize truck-mounted lift-buckets, or descend into underground vaults.
  • Cut sheath from installed cable to gain access to defective cable, as well as cut and peel sheath and insulation from newly installed cable and conductors.
  • Test each conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cables, using test lamps or bell systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, digital drawings, maps, blueprints, diagrams, and other documentation.
Requirements
  • 0-1 or more years of experience as a fiber splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
