Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Engineer will manage the telecommunications team, ensuring efficient execution of projects and maintaining operational excellence.

1. **Team Leadership:** Direct the daily activities of the telecommunications team to meet project goals and deadlines.
2. **Strategic Planning:** Develop long-term strategies (5-10 years) for the lifecycle management of CORE Transport and MPLS CORE communication networks.
3. **Project Management:** Collaborate with the Telecommunications Manager to formulate and execute the Telecom Strategy for growth and expansion.
4. **Mentorship:** Guide co-op students, new hires, and existing team members, fostering professional development.
5. **Network Development:** Design and plan network communication systems that support the backbone infrastructure, including Fiber Optic builds and Microwave planning.
6. **Documentation and Review:** Prepare detailed engineering designs, cost estimates, and project documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Technical Expertise:
Applicants should possess a comprehensive understanding of telecommunications theory and practical application within the electric utility sector. Experience with various communication technologies, including private radio, microwave, and fiber optic systems, is essential.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in fiber transport networks.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Professional Engineering License is a plus.
