Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Neogen. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading and performing engineering changes to assembly lines, troubleshooting process or equipment-related problems, and developing plans to increase productivity, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering Changes: Lead and perform engineering changes to assembly lines from a mechanical, pneumatic, servo motor controls, PLC, machining, vision system, and sensor/instrumentation perspective.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot process or equipment-related problems and provide solutions in a timely manner.
- Productivity and Quality: In conjunction with the Production Team, develop and implement plans to increase productivity, quality, and safety through use of standardized work processes (continuous improvement).
- Maintenance Support: Assist the Maintenance team with development of effective preventative maintenance practices.
- Standardized Work Instructions: Write standardized work instructions to manage change and allow operators to perform work safely, with the proper quality, and in the proper time.
- Capital Projects: Lead small capital projects.
- Equipment Selection and Installation: Facilitate the selection, design, and installation of equipment to meet required quality and productivity targets.
- Machine Review and Validation: Participate in machine review and validation runs of assembly equipment prior to shipment to manufacturing plant.
- Product Development: Participate with the product development team to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and quality.
