Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement software solutions for our specialized ground vehicle systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement software development plans and best practices for software coding within AM General LLC.
  • Coordinate with external teams to develop, implement, and maintain vehicle and module software for multiple projects.
  • Ensure software development is aligned with Cybersecurity guidelines and procedures.
  • Work with external partners to implement procedures for obtaining CMMI and CMMC compliance and certification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, IS&S, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Interact with external vendors, partners, and customers.

Requirements

  • Experience leading programs with external software development teams.
  • Experience approving software code developed by others.
  • Experience developing software development plans (SDP) is a plus.
  • Experience with CMMI and CMMC is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense's Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft suite of tools to provide information and updates to upper management.
  • Related degree in Computer Science or BSEE.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the field.
  • Ability to work solo and as part of a team.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.

Working Conditions

  • This position operates in an office and manufacturing plant environment and may require working on a specific shift or hours.
  • Ability to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions, such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises.
  • Teamwork is essential to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
  • Strong listening skills are required to understand how to use machinery properly and safely.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work methodically to ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
  • Concentration is required to perform repetitive tasks and maintain quality control.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel may be required.
