Position Summary

The Lead Civil Engineering Specialist is tasked with the comprehensive design of erosion and sediment control strategies, floodplain evaluations, stormwater management solutions, and best practices for site development. This role also encompasses the creation of detailed calculations, reports, and spreadsheets. The individual will play a pivotal role in the project team, demonstrating a robust work ethic and serving as the senior technical authority within the collaborative environment. Project types span a diverse range of sectors including commercial, governmental, industrial, institutional, recreational, residential, and retail.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

1. Oversee the design processes for municipal, retail, commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects, including due diligence, permitting documentation, and contract management.

2. Evaluate survey data, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, and other topographical or geological information to effectively plan projects.

3. Research and apply relevant Local Municipal, State, and Federal regulations.

4. Calculate project costs, encompassing materials, equipment, and labor expenses.

5. Clearly communicate tasks, timelines, and coordinate project responsibilities with the project team.

6. Execute assigned responsibilities with precision, adhering to schedules and budget constraints.

7. Draft proposals for the technical engineering components of projects.

8. Comprehend all contracted scopes of work and manage additional work authorizations as needed.

9. Conduct site visits as necessary.

10. Mentor and guide junior engineers.

11. Perform Quality Control Reviews of plans and reports prior to distribution.

12. Act in a supportive project manager capacity or directly manage projects when appropriate.

13. Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the work of sub-consultants.

14. Provide technical assistance to clients and support regional business development efforts as a technical expert.

15. Uphold the company's reputation through the high technical quality of work produced.

16. Represent the firm professionally at all project-related meetings and inspections.
