Service Activation Engineer

ADEX is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Activation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the testing and acceptance of FTI products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute and document formal acceptance testing of FTI products and services per program requirements.
  • Plan and conduct maintenance events to test and transition services which support customer requirements.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and validate communication circuits per IEEE, ITU, TIA, ISO and FTI specifications.
  • Work and coordinate activities with onsite field support personnel as well as customer resources.
  • Collaborate closely with other FTI Engineering team members to resolve implementation and acceptance issues.
  • Participate in after action reviews to resolve technical challenges.
  • Create and maintain documentation for engineering and NOC teams.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization.
  • Manage the CPE design release workflow to meet the implementation schedule.
  • Support alternate shifts schedules (2nd or 3rd) to execute after hours maintenance events.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent of a 4-year accredited degree in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks experience.
  • Highly motivated and capable of developing and following detailed instructions and action plans.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and is self-directed and self-motivated.
  • Project management skills capable of adhering to deadlines and completing tasks per project schedule.
  • Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and technical procedures.
  • Domain knowledge of the Telecommunications industry, including carrier services, provisioning terminology, CISCO routers and network infrastructure and IP technologies such as Pseudo Wire and Ethernet switching.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance security clearance.
