Your Role

In this position, you will oversee a team of Maintenance Supervisors, ensuring the effective upkeep of facilities and machinery. You will devise strategies to minimize mechanical downtime and maintain optimal production flow. Additionally, you will be responsible for the establishment and execution of maintenance protocols aligned with High Performing Manufacturing Organizations, including Preventative and Predictive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Key Responsibilities

Management of Maintenance Systems

  • Oversee the management of maintenance systems pertinent to high-performing manufacturing environments, focusing on maximizing plant capacity while minimizing costs.
  • Coordinate work scheduling to enhance task completion rates, reduce unscheduled downtime, and improve overall plant efficiency.

Staff Management and Safety

  • Lead the maintenance team through effective delegation, policy enforcement, and work assignment management.
  • Champion plant safety by implementing and upholding company policies and training in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Problem-Solving and Solutions

  • Provide immediate and medium-term solutions to operational teams facing troubleshooting and equipment failure challenges.
  • Ensure the plant operates smoothly with minimal recurring issues.

Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

  • Assist the Plant Engineer in creating and managing a robust Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program utilizing the SAP PM Module.
  • Analyze program data to foster continuous improvement.

Performance Metrics

  • Ensure adherence to Key Performance Indicators for monitoring and reporting maintenance performance, including supplier performance and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience, including team development and management.
  • Advanced technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management systems, work order processes, and TPM.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills, teamwork, and analytical reasoning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; presentation skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated respectfulness, approachability, and team orientation, fostering strong working relationships.

Supervisory Duties

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance Department staff.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as performance appraisal and conflict resolution.
