Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Sutter Health. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures with a high level of competence, including transesophageal echocardiograms, intraoperative transesophageal echocardiograms, and structural heart procedures.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including non-medical people, to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program.
  • Level I or II: RCS (CCI)-Registered Cardiac Sonographer or ARDMS (RDCS AE for adult or RDCS PE for pediatric).
  • Level III: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider and 2 of the following: RCS (CCI)-Registered Cardiac Sonographer, ACS (CCI) - Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ARDMS - RDCS(AE) - Adult, ARDMS - RDCS(PE) - Pediatric, ARDMS - RDCS(FE) - Fetal, or ARDMS - RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist.
Preferred Experience
  • Level I: No experience required.
  • Level II: Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Level III: Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic cardiac sonography principles, procedures, and views.
  • Proficient in performing cardiac sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.
Work Environment

This is a per diem/casual position with a variable schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends. The pay range for this role is $67.20 to $83.98 per hour, depending on experience.
