Position Overview

As a Secondary Science Educator, you will play a pivotal role in fostering students' understanding and skills in various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and physics. Under the guidance of the School Principal, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate a stimulating learning environment that encourages inquiry and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver engaging instruction in science subjects, adhering to the established curriculum.

2. Create a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to both individual and collaborative learning.

3. Develop comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials that translate into effective learning experiences.

4. Design innovative learning activities that connect scientific concepts to real-world applications, including experiments and research projects.

5. Instruct students on the proper use and maintenance of scientific tools and materials.

6. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

7. Stay informed about district and state educational standards to enhance student performance on assessments.

8. Engage in continuous professional development through workshops and research to stay current in educational practices.

9. Maintain accurate records of student achievements and attendance in compliance with district policies.

10. Foster communication with parents and encourage their involvement in the educational process.

11. Uphold school standards for student behavior and create a productive learning environment.

12. Collaborate with fellow educators and participate in faculty meetings and committees.

13. Manage inventory and requisition necessary instructional materials and equipment.


Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrators.

Equipment Utilization
Utilize standard office equipment, including computers and printers, as required.

Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to district meetings may be necessary.

Qualifications
1. NJ State Certification as a Science Teacher or equivalent qualification.
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant educational discipline.
3. Previous successful teaching experience at the appropriate grade level is preferred.
