VNS Health is seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to lead our clinical education programs. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering wound care specific clinical education programs designed to foster high-quality care by implementing evidence-based practice, performance improvement activities, and professional staff development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Clinical Education Programs: Manage and deliver wound care specific clinical education programs to foster high-quality care, ensuring that they address patient-centered needs and identify and communicate protocols and standards of care for a culturally and demographically diverse patient population.
- Support Operational Efficiency: Support the day-to-day operations of the wound management software application, ensuring seamless integration with clinical education programs.
- Staff Development and Training: Manage the implementation of clinical staff development programs, including orientation, in-services, training, and other learning activities, to enhance the skills and knowledge of clinical staff.
- Evaluate Program Outcomes: Review program-specific educational program outcomes and program evaluations to determine areas for improvement and make recommendations for change and new programs for clinical education as appropriate.
- Integrate Evidence-Based Practice: Support the integration of evidence-based wound and ostomy care practices into protocols/policies, consultation strategies, staff development plans, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and research.
- Analyze Clinical Outcomes: Evaluate clinical outcomes data and analyze practice patterns to promote organizational responses that meet the needs of patients with specific complex and chronic illnesses.
- Develop Policies and Protocols: Develop policies, standards, and protocols for applying evidence-based practice and evaluate their impact on care management outcomes.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Collaborate with program leadership to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate practice improvement plans.
- Evaluate Staff Practice: Evaluate staff practice patterns on an individual and team level to identify gaps and improve communication skills and clinical practice related to wound care.
- Provide Clinical Consultations: Perform written, telephonic, and in-person clinical consultations as needed.
- Present Project Status: Participate in creating and delivering presentations on project status and outcomes to management.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Certification: Certified as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse required.
- Licensure: Current License and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS required.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree of Science, Science in Nursing, Science in Education or Science in Business Administration required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree of Science in Nursing, Science in Education, Science in Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years progressive experience in healthcare required.
- Data Interpretation: Conversant in data interpretation and presentation required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with personal computers, including Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
- Project Management: Knowledge of Project Management Applications, and other related databases preferred.
