Job Title: Embedded Control Systems Engineer

Job Description:

Create custom Forklift solutions for key customers. Design and develop control systems, and interact with a cross-functional team. Work with control theory and system identification to develop robust products, filling an important role at a stable organization.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • BS in EE, CE, ME with controls focus, or similar
  • 7 years experience with Control Theory and Closed Loop controls
  • Experience with C and Simulink

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating system models from first principles or measured data
  • Knowledge of Signal Processing and Sampling Theory
  • Proficiency in Simulink model development
  • Experience developing software to control a physical device
  • Awareness of data communications (e.g. J1939, CAN)
  • Familiar with agile software development practices
  • Proficiency in C or Python programming language
  • Exposure to configuration management tools such as Git or Subversion

  • Ability and willingness to operate industrial equipment for development purposes (e.g. Fork Truck)
  • Driven to see tasks through to completion
  • Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Ability to follow established procedures
  • Attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation
  • Exhibits good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues
  • Occasional travel may be required (less than 10% total time)
