Position Summary

The Battery Test Technician is responsible for executing tests and inspections to assess the quality and performance of our products. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team of Engineers and Technicians. This role will be under the supervision of the Product Test Supervisor. This is a temporary position with the potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow verbal and written instructions meticulously to ensure products meet specified standards.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail in all testing processes.
  • Visually inspect products for defects based on established criteria.
  • Conduct quality and performance tests according to testing protocols using various tools and equipment.
  • Document any issues following the defined reporting procedures.
  • Perform Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) checks.
  • Input testing data into quality management software accurately.
  • Prepare cells for shipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the lab and testing equipment.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of basic electrical connections.
  • Experience with PCB soldering is preferred.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining hand and power tools.
  • Experience with battery production equipment, including pneumatic cutters and formation machines.
  • Knowledge of battery testing instruments such as mass scales and digital multi-meters.
  • Basic computer skills for accurate data entry.
  • Commitment to ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
  • Awareness of safety standards and procedures, with a commitment to following all safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a production testing or product testing role.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • This position is based in Fremont, CA, and requires reliable commuting.
  • Must adhere to the company's quality and safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Physical activities may include standing, sitting, bending, and lifting.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses.
Work Schedule
  • Alternate Workweek Schedule.
  • Shifts may include Sunday through Tuesday, plus alternate Wednesdays.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $30.00, based on experience and qualifications.
