Adoption Team Leader

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a passionate and proactive Adoption Team Leader to guide our staff and embody AHS's fundamental values of Innovation, Compassion, and Excellence. Schedule: Days/Weekends

Reports To: Adoptions and Retail Manager

Supervises: Adoption Specialists, Adoption Coordinator

Daily Responsibilities:

The Adoption Team Leader will oversee the daily functions of the Adoptions team, ensuring a positive work atmosphere and high levels of performance. This role involves collaborating with the team to promote our Strategic Plan initiatives and objectives while exemplifying an Excellent Experience for both clients and internal staff and volunteers. The leader will assist in developing and executing policies, procedures, and training to ensure seamless adoptions, providing clear expectations, effective training, and accountability for team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Preferred: College studies or degree.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to various locations.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Preferred: Experience in animal welfare and fear-free animal handling.
  • Required: Experience in sales, retail, and cash-handling operations.
  • Preferred: Experience in financial reporting and analysis.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, reaches with hands and arms, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to dust, temperature variations, occasional wet floors, and animal sounds, odors, and dander is expected. Most work will occur in a standard air-conditioned and heated office setting.
