Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in the preparation and care of surgical patients, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients, including preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assist with incoming and outgoing patient calls, and perform other clinical functions as delegated by the RN or physician.
- Assist with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists, and serve as a role model to new employees and other staff members.
- Establish and maintain sterile fields, and assure team members maintain sterile environments.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
- 0-18 months of full-time equivalent Surgical Technology or relevant military experience.
- Ability to adapt to changes within the unit, work effectively and efficiently under pressure, and demonstrate knowledge of anatomy relating to surgical procedures and instrumentation.
