Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Insurance Sales Agent to join our team at VyStar Credit Union. As an Insurance Sales Agent, you will be responsible for generating new sales, retaining existing members, and growing our overall book of business through our multiple product offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new sales and retain existing members through continuous and consistent prospecting and lead generation.
  • Sell and cross-sell Personal and Commercial insurance via telephone, internet, and email.
  • Build rapport with customers to establish customer satisfaction, loyalty, and affinity to the VyStar brand.
  • Exercise responsive and timely follow-up to member inquiries to obtain, finalize, and/or retain business with VyStar.
  • Recommend solutions and provide product options and quotes to meet member needs.
  • Formulate strategies to increase product awareness of VyStar products and services.
  • Actively solicit new business outside of the office, at business establishments, and other locations to create and expand business networks.
Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of processes, methods, and workflow procedures in insurance.
  • Sales aptitude with resilience to overcome objectives.
  • Competitive spirit with a desire to win and grow.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and professionally interact positively and courteously within the member, organization, or with vendors.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with strong skills and ability to engage with others, ask appropriate questions to meet objectives, and clearly and concisely communicate when sharing with others.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality, demonstrates due professional care, and the highest standards of professional competency.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work to ensure that work is completed within specified time and quality parameters.
  • Display flexibility, initiative, attention to detail/accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment within responsibilities and seeks guidance as needed.
  • Ability to provide professional and winning customer service.
  • Successfully complete all product and/or skill-enhancement training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail needed to ensure all sale and post-sale carrier specific requirements are met.
Education and Experience
  • Currently hold active State Property & Casualty licenses.
  • Minimum 2 years of insurance-related experience required.
  • General knowledge of insurance departments, operations, terminology, and objectives.
