Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Spacecraft Bus Procurement to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Space Vehicle Engineering team, you will be responsible for procuring spacecraft buses that meet our customers' technical performance specifications and mission needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with low-cost commercial bus providers to understand available bus supplier capabilities that enable future programs.
  • Perform competitive analysis on the bus market to ensure we are procuring the best value solution for our customers.
  • Lead bus procurement RFPs and selection in support of BAE Systems USA proposals.
  • Accountable for technical deliverables and ensuring they meet the needs of the program and requirements of the subcontract.
  • Support the Space Vehicle Engineering team through development, test, and delivery of the integrated space vehicle.
Requirements
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as a willingness to collaborate cross functionally.
  • Demonstrated experience in proposals, systems engineering processes, including requirements development, requirement allocation, change management, verification, and validation.
  • Experience over the full program life cycle, from conception to delivery/operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams including meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A current, active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) - CAM experience.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering expertise.
