Overview of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Medicine Professional to join our team at Petco. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth of our practice.

Job Description

This position is responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care to patients, including physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning. You will work closely with our veterinarian team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing diseases, and developing treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with our veterinarian team to ensure effective patient care and communication.
  • Document patient observations, findings, treatments, and medications in a concise and detailed manner.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization based on complete problem-based assessment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
  • Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
  • USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassion and sympathy, with the ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $115,960.00 - $185,640.00 per year, depending on location, level of experience, and regulatory minimum wage laws.
