Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Coach in delivering guidance to student-athletes on essential skills for the sport, fostering teamwork, and contributing to their personal growth.
  • Participate in the planning, organization, and execution of collegiate games and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with the head coach to cultivate a unified and competitive athletic program.
  • Assist in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.
  • Comply with the regulations of the competitive league.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to the recruitment of student-athletes alongside the head coach.
  • Take on a leadership role within the athletic program.
  • Assist the Athletic Department with various athletic matters as required.
  • Adhere to all internal and external policies and regulations, including those set by NCAA and GLIAC.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, anticipating and addressing the needs of our stakeholders.
  • Promote and embody the cultural values of the University.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, which includes criminal history, employment verification, and substance screening.
  • Two to four years of advanced coaching experience is required, with a preference for collegiate coaching experience.
  • Capability to work autonomously without direct oversight.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive service-oriented attitude.
  • Proficient in managing data with computerized systems.
  • Ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, suitable for varied audiences.
  • Proven ability to connect with students, parents, faculty, and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong motivational and problem-solving skills, demonstrating integrity and commitment to the University’s mission.
  • Work environment may involve prolonged periods of sitting and standing, as well as using a personal computer and telephone.
  • Some travel may be necessary, and the role may involve heavy lifting.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
