Position Overview

The University of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker I to join our Auxiliary Snelling team. This role involves working the overnight shift at the Snelling Dining Commons, where you will play a vital part in providing quality food service to our community.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Food Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
  2. Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and kitchen facilities, including washing dishes and cleaning tables.
  3. Equipment Handling: Operate food service equipment such as mixers and steam cookers, ensuring proper care and usage.
  4. Customer Service: Provide courteous service to patrons, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in food service is preferred but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of safe food handling practices and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs and perform various physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and working in varying temperatures.


Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule primarily from Monday to Thursday during overnight hours. Additional schedule variations may occur based on operational needs.


Compensation

The position offers a competitive salary, with an additional hourly supplement for overnight shifts when the dining facility operates 24 hours.
