Job Summary

The Soft Count Manager is a key member of the Three Rivers Casino & Hotel team, responsible for overseeing the Drop and Count operations of the Soft Count Department. This role requires a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance with gaming regulations, internal controls, and TRCR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage and delegate work to the Soft Count Team to ensure the department is meeting standards, requirements, and service levels through effective scheduling.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ensure the completion of Team Member administrative tasks, including hiring, training, development, evaluations, corrective actions, payroll processing, and termination decisions.
  • Shift Coverage: Cover shifts for Team Members due to PTO, staff shortages, or vacations, performing job responsibilities as needed.
  • Training and Development: Verify that all Team Members are properly trained within their role and utilized to their full potential.
  • Soft Count Operations: Supervise and train the proper procedures for counting, verifying, and strapping all currency and gaming chips.
  • Communication: Work with Supervisors to manage communications with Team Members in order to resolve personnel problems and discuss solutions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for operating a variety of currency counting equipment and contacting vendors for maintenance schedules for Soft Count, Players Services, and Slots.
  • Integrity and Compliance: Ensure the integrity of all Soft Count transactions and enforce TRC Policies and Procedures at all times.
  • Policies and Procedures: Manage the creation and implementation of policies and procedures that pertain to the functions of the Soft Count Department.
  • Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with other management personnel for the transport of supplies between the Florence and Coos Bay properties as well as the transfer of accounting/auditing documents, including Ocean Dunes Golf Links.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as directed by management.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend, and squat frequently.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.

Requirements
  • Minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have 5 years' experience in a Casino Soft Count role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • At least 1-year experience working as a Three Rivers Casino Resort Soft Count Team Member required.
  • Thorough understanding of computer programs, including all windows applications required, with an emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must possess organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing, or by other acceptable means.
  • Comply with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
