Job Summary

A Medical Assistant/LPN is a vital member of the patient-centered healthcare team at Froedtert Health. This role involves pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, and discharge instructions. The Medical Assistant/LPN plays a crucial role in helping patients feel at ease while collaborating with providers throughout the patient's visit.

Responsibilities
  • Pre-visit planning and preparation
  • Standard rooming responsibilities, including vital signs and medical history
  • Assisting with procedures and treatments
  • Discharge instructions and patient education
  • Collaborating with providers and other healthcare team members
Requirements
  • One to two years of clinical experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire
  • Meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • A. A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES-accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma, or Certificate)
    • B. A graduate of a non-CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, Diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training
    • C. Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials:
      • a. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - AAMA
      • b. Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - AMT
      • c. Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE)
      • d. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - NHA
  • LPN Qualifications:
    • One to two years of related clinical experience preferred
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing required
    • Current LPN licensure by the state of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire
