The Conductor-H Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement of trains, freight, and crew. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate track switches and couple/uncouple cars to facilitate loading and unloading
  • Place cars and engines in rail yards and on the main railroad
  • Receive and relay instructions from dispatchers, yardmasters, and other personnel
  • Perform work safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with railroad rules and regulations, as well as Federal Railroad Association (FRA) guidelines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Aptitude in the Transportation field and desire to learn
  • Exceptional sound judgment and ability to execute railroad rules and regulations
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to write legibly and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and business associates

Working Environment

The Conductor-H Operations Specialist will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with exposure to various weather conditions and potential hazards. Daily travel may be required during scheduled work hours.
