Job Title: High Performance Computing Systems Administrator

Join Raytheon Careers as a High Performance Computing Systems Administrator and contribute to the development of advanced systems and services for commercial, military, and government customers worldwide.

About the Role:

This is an onsite role in our Tucson, Arizona location, where you will work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-performance computing administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • Help develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high scope and complexity to include the integration of High-Performance Computing hardware, software, and operating systems (OS).
  • Understanding of software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting, to lead and support the engineering community.
  • Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on high-performance computing systems. Work across DT functions to standardize processes and procedures.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced DT HPC processes and procedures. Be a mentor to junior team members.
Requirements:
  • The role typically requires a bachelor's degree (prefer but not limited to STEM major), and 2 years of experience, an associate's degree with 4 years' experience, or in lieu of degree and 6 years of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience in Windows and or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening.
  • Experience maintaining a medium-sized Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Experience maintaining a medium-sized Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux strongly preferred.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Project Leadership, Management, or Project management in an DT domain Basic to advance scripting experience.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication service integration (LDAP).
  • Unix (Including Linux and Solaris), experience in a medium to high complex environment.
  • Working knowledge of High-Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Grid Engine and Ganglia.
