Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Porter to join our team at Journal Hotels. As a Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our properties, ensuring a high level of service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and degrease kitchen outlets, floors, and equipment surfaces; perform pool maintenance, including cleaning, adding chemicals, and brushing tiles.
  • Property Upkeep: Execute and sustain daily upkeep and cleanliness of property buildings, amenities, common areas, and grounds, including trash pickup and snow removal.
  • Safety and Efficiency: Perform all duties safely and efficiently by following company safety policies.
  • Painting and Washing: Paint and wash ceilings, woodwork, outdoor furniture, and common areas.
  • Dusting and Disinfecting: Dust and disinfect doorknobs, furniture, and bathrooms.
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean surfaces, appliances, furnishings, floors, walls, windows, bathrooms, balconies, and patios in vacant units and common areas.
  • Trash and Waste Management: Transport trash and waste to disposal areas and ensure control and cleaning of trash areas.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
  • Plant Care: Clean trash from planters' boxes and plant areas.
  • Maintenance Support: Participate in ongoing property preventative maintenance plan and assist maintenance as needed.
  • Guest Service: Maintain a safe work environment at all times and report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding residents and property operations.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Janitorial/Porter in an apartment or hotel industry or equivalent background.
  • Availability: Full-Time Position, with possible weekend requirements.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • License: Current and valid Driver's License or ID.
