STV Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical & Tunneling Engineering Specialist to join our Geotechnical department at our New York City office.
Key Responsibilities:- Design tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes, and deep foundations.
- Develop and implement geotechnical subsurface exploration plans.
- Prepare geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretive reports, geotechnical baseline reports, and geotechnical design reports.
- Interpret geology, geotechnical, and hydrologic conditions and understand their impact on design and construction.
- Assist in proposal preparation.
Project work will include heavy civil underground structures such as cut-and-cover and mined tunnels, caverns, shafts, underground structures such as substations and treatment facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
Engineering-In-Training (EIT) Certification is preferred.
Prior experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC) is highly preferred but not required.
A Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines is preferred but not required.
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations is preferred.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
Compensation:The salary range for this position is $64,392.00 to $85,392.00.
