About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team as an Associate Geotechnical Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in projects that require geotechnical engineering design and analysis for bridges, buildings, tunnels, underground structures, and retaining walls.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and coordinate field observation and special inspection of subsurface investigations in soils and rock.
  • Prepare and draft geotechnical memoranda, data reports, and design reports.
  • Perform and coordinate field observation and special inspection of geotechnical construction.
  • Assist task leaders in preparation of reports and Contract Documents.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and project partners.
  • Assist to develop and coordinate geotechnical work in New England and other areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering, or a closely-related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering and working knowledge of related disciplines (Structures, Civil, and/or Environmental).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and other tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior design and/or construction experience of highway, bridge, building, and underground projects.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR).
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
