Job Title: Geotechnical & Tunneling Engineering Specialist

STV is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical & Tunneling Engineering Specialist to join our team in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes, and deep foundations.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical subsurface exploration plans.
  • Prepare geotechnical data reports, interpretive reports, baseline reports, and design reports.
  • Assist in proposal preparation.
Required Experience:

Project work will include heavy civil underground structures such as cut-and-cover and mined tunnels, caverns, shafts, and underground structures throughout the United States and Canada.

Engineering-In-Training (EIT) Certification is preferred.

Prior experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC) is highly preferred but not required.

A Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $64,392.00 to $85,392.00 per year.
