ChristianaCare's Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Health Educator to support our School Based Health Programs in New Castle County, DE.

As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nutritional services to adolescents. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing and implementing care plans, counseling students, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

We offer both casual and part-time positions, allowing you to choose a schedule that suits your needs:

  • Casual position: one day per week
  • Part-time position: 2-3 days per week
Schedule Details:

* One day/week (casual)

* 2-3 days/week (part-time)

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Provide high-quality care to the adolescent population, demonstrating expertise in nutrition and wellness.
  2. Collaborate with the healthcare team by making referrals and coordinating care, ensuring seamless patient outcomes.
  3. Analyze information to identify student needs and develop targeted care plans focusing on nutritional well-being.
  4. Counsel students on an individual basis, addressing their unique nutritional requirements and concerns.
  5. Conduct 2 student consultations per hour when school is in session, adjusting visit numbers annually based on experience.
  6. Maintain accurate medical records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and third-party billing regulations.
  7. Develop and implement engaging nutrition education programs for students, families, and school staff.
  8. Support the development of policies, procedures, and programs for the SBHC, contributing to its success.
  9. Assist in creating and evaluating quality assurance programs, ensuring exceptional patient experiences.
  10. Design and implement effective nutrition education materials tailored to adolescents.
  11. Ensure safe work practices, reporting any hazards or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) required.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations preferred.
  • Master's Degree required after graduating in 2024, as mandated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
