Nutrition Expert for School-Based Health Programs

ChristianaCare's Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Expert to support our school-based health programs in New Castle County, DE.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Description:

This role involves providing in-depth assessments, care plans, and counseling services to students in schools. As a key member of the SBHC team, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that students receive appropriate nutritional services.

Schedule:

  • Casual positions: one day per week
  • Part-time positions: 2-3 days per week

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement individualized care plans focused on the nutritional needs of students.
  2. Counsel students with identified nutritional needs, providing guidance on healthy eating habits and nutrition education.
  3. Maintain accurate medical records, adhering to HIPPA guidelines and third-party billing regulations.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop policies, procedures, and programs for the SBHC.
  5. Design and implement quality assurance programs to ensure high-quality care.
  6. Provide nutrition education to students, families, and school staff, promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
  7. Perform assigned work safely, reporting any hazards or safety violations to supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Commission on Dietetic Registration certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) required.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations an asset.
