Job Title: Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 2

Walla Walla Community College is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 2 to join our Enology and Viticulture program team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality instruction and student learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support instructional process through assistance in classroom and lab settings, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist department instructors in classroom and lab teaching environments, including preparation and modification of instructional resources.
  • Monitor work environments for potential hazards and ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
  • Manage grape receiving and preparation for instruction, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of materials.
  • Ensure cellar preparation and cleanliness, maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Assist students in laboratory analysis and completion of laboratory assignments, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct laboratory demonstrations, showcasing best practices and techniques.
  • Assist in establishing and developing assignments, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • AAAS in Enology and Viticulture Degree or related field required; industry experience may substitute for education at the discretion of the college.
  • Possess and display a passion for students and their academic and professional success.
  • Ability to support project-based learning and hands-on instruction styles.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with students, the college, community, and industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Winery, vineyard, or manufacturing experience, including exposure to state and federal safety regulations.
  • Entrepreneurial experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
Working Conditions:

This classified position is in a bargaining unit for which WPEA Higher Ed is the exclusive representative. The position typically works 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, unless otherwise prearranged with supervisor. Winery and vineyard setting working with large equipment and motorized vehicles, chemicals, and pesticides used in vineyard and winery setting. Must be physically able to lift and relocate 50 lbs., and work for extended periods while walking/standing.

All full-time employees will automatically have 3% of taxable income deferred into the State of Washington Deferred Compensation Program (DCP) unless declined at time of hire.
