Commercial Flooring Sales Representative

As an Account Executive at Diverzify, you will play a critical role in guiding our customers in selecting and purchasing the appropriate flooring option for their needs. This involves working with a wide range of customers, from bulk buyers to large corporations, to provide turn-key commercial floor covering services. Your responsibilities will include daily sales calls, developing new customers, and providing in-depth knowledge of flooring styles and installation methods to architects, designers, and other end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile a list of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Work with suppliers, architects, designers, building owners, tenants, and contractors to choose products that fit their budget.
- Cultivate relationships with general contractors, end users, and architects that have used our products and services.
- Give presentations to architects, designers, and end users to educate them on the flooring industry and how Diverzify can be a benefit to them on their projects.
- Submit material and labor pricing quotes to existing, new, or potential clients.
- Work with the President and Sales Manager to ensure Contracts from Customers are accurate and aligned with estimate/proposal inclusions/exclusions.
- Work with the project team to coordinate RFI's & submittals, order materials and coordinate deliveries, labor, and installation with the Customer.
- Follow through by visiting job sites during project commencement to ensure quality control and timely installation.
- Create and submit cost proposals for changes in work during the commencement of the project.
- Manage projects in conjunction with the project coordinator or installation supervisor.
- Help solve problems and ensure that the jobs are installed properly.
- Work with the project team to ensure change orders, billings and close-out documentation are submitted regularly and kept current.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Previous sales experience or building science/construction management or advanced commercial floor installation experience is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motorized vehicle.
- Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints.
- 2+ years of experience in channel distribution sales.
- 2+ years of outside B2B sales experience.
- Strong math skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
- Willing to travel up to 35% of the time may be needed and attendance at industry and trade shows may be possible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field.
