Job Summary

As a Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing marketing and communications policies and objectives for Credit Union West. You will oversee all promotions and advertising efforts to drive membership and product growth, as well as brand awareness.

You will develop an overall marketing plan, approve campaigns, and measure the return on investment of various advertising methods. You will also review and maintain a strong knowledge of changes in the marketplace and recommend appropriate strategies for marketing and product pricing to executive management.

You will oversee public relations and communications with the media and all graphics and content displayed and distributed through social media and all marketing channels.

Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities
  • 50% Marketing Operations
    • Ensure successful achievement of corporate goals, established performance expectations for respective areas of oversight, and frequent marketing promotions.
    • Support leadership that drives excellence in results from marketing initiatives and business development efforts.
    • Ensure compliance within credit union policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
    • Provide project management leadership to ensure completion of regular promotional projects.
    • Build interdepartmental partnerships to successfully execute corporate initiatives or projects.
    • Manage annual marketing calendar and campaigns.
  • 25% Marketing Strategy
    • Support vision, leadership, and direction in the planning and implementation of organizational goals, priorities, projects, and technology.
    • Deliver on short-term and long-term marketing strategies that support membership and loan growth, brand awareness, and responsibility to serve the community.
    • Ensure plans and campaigns align with the credit union's mission and purpose, owning the development of creative consumer messaging and value proposition.
  • 20% Leading Talent
    • Hire, train, direct, and evaluate employee performance and behaviors to serve the member experience.
    • Allocate resources to meet operational needs within the department.
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction for team members ensuring they have the support and development opportunities to become well-trained employees excelling in their roles.
  • 5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited educational facility preferred or equivalent experience.

Certified in one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Strategic marketing
  • Digital marketing
  • Communications
Experience:

5-8 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field.

5-8 years of experience in leadership or management.

Digital marketing, project management, and financial services experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Understanding of marketing agency process
  • Live the mission, vision, and core values of the credit union
  • Able to communicate effectively and tactfully with employees and members both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and being self-reliant to better analyze and solve problems
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be agile to serve members and employees

Excellent presentation skills, confident in all settings with individuals at all levels of the organization both internal and external.

Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaborative tools (Teams and Zoom).

Thorough knowledge and understanding of organization's Employee Handbook and policies.

Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
