We are seeking a skilled Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services Inc.
About the Job:
- This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced professional to work directly with individuals in a residential setting, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their personal goals.
- As a Residential Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live a self-directed life, focusing on symptom stabilization, skill-building, and overall well-being.
- You will engage with residents, identify their strengths and interests, and collaborate with them to establish goals that promote recovery and community involvement.
- Your responsibilities will also include arranging transportation, completing administrative tasks, and assisting with daily living activities such as cooking and cleaning.
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, while a Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
- In lieu of a college degree, candidates with at least one year of experience working with populations affected by severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder are encouraged to apply.
- A valid driver's license and MAP certification within five months of hire are mandatory, along with CPR/First Aid training during the orientation period.
- ASL fluency is considered an asset, and COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to hire.
