Job Overview

ASRC Federal Holding Company is a leading provider of systems engineering, software development, system integration, and project management services for critical defense operations.

We are currently seeking a Chief Operations Officer for the Satellite Control Network at Vandenberg Tracking Station, Vandenberg SFB, CA.

This position is in anticipation of a successful award for the Satellite Control Network Tracking Station Operations, Remote Site, and Mission Partner Support Task Order, which will provide operational and organizational maintenance for the Satellite Control Network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise operational functions at the Remote Tracking Station (RTS), overseeing a 24/7 team of operations and maintenance technicians skilled in RF, digital telecommunications, encryption, and networking systems.
  • Manage operations and maintenance activities, including readiness, training, exercises, rehearsals, and all scheduled satellite pass support.
  • Ensure all operations personnel are proficient, adequately staffed, and responsive to pass support requirements and directives.
  • Guarantee that all RTS staff are trained and certified according to established protocols and standards.
  • Verify that maintenance tasks are scheduled, executed, and documented appropriately, utilizing the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) for tracking maintenance activities, including unscheduled equipment failures and preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Develop, monitor, and enhance processes related to operations and maintenance activities.
  • Establish operational measurement techniques to ensure standardized and effective operations, ensuring compliance with all requirements for Satellite Control Network mission support.
  • Oversee and manage maintenance activities for Mission Partner equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma with 6-8 years of experience in communications/electronics operation and maintenance support (2-4 years with an Associate's degree).
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience related to the Satellite Control Network and Remote Tracking Stations.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Current or previous SCN operations and maintenance qualifications/certifications.
  • Experience in overseas locations is advantageous.
  • Ideal candidates will have extensive experience at an SCN Remote Tracking Station in roles such as Chief of Operations, Chief Operations Officer, or shift lead.
