Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis and execute planning tasks utilizing the official Universal Documentation System (UDS).
  • Support Controllers in coordinating personnel actions and managing mission systems during operations within the Range Control Center (RCC) or Missile Flight Control Center (MFCC).
  • Oversee critical, real-time telemetry and Range Safety data essential for launch vehicle tracking requirements.
  • Fulfill operational roles as a Telemetry Controller (TMC), Radar Controller (RC), Acquisition Data Systems Controller (ADSC), and Real-Time Data Controller (RTDC).
  • Execute planning duties aligned with departmental requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate range systems to manage system data performance and integrate operational support.
  • Assist Controllers in the daily management of systems during both test and non-test periods.
  • Facilitate pre-test briefings and conduct post-test evaluations.
  • Assess system conditions during pre-launch and launch activities, providing recommendations to Controllers and Mission Control Specialists.
  • Skillfully perform the following tasks: Support all pre-launch and launch operations, plan and schedule daily activities, train and mentor fellow Planner/Controllers, develop and draft training procedures, troubleshoot and communicate circuit and telemetry or Flight Operations (FO) system issues in real-time, and implement real-time adjustments to circuit patching and system configurations.
  • Evaluate proposed changes to operational procedures or methods to enhance data quality and performance for future tests and operations.
  • Assist in preparing reports, procedures, and operational documentation.
  • Engage with the mission team and federal government entities to gather necessary background information to meet operational requirements, ensuring the highest probability of success.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to multitask and manage activities during countdowns for tests.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Attention to detail is essential.

Required Experience

  • An associate degree in a technical or analytical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, including relevant military experience.
  • A minimum of two years of technical experience in Western Range operations; familiarity with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) systems and launch operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours or weekends to meet specific project or mission needs.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Salary is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
