Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at MyCareersFuture. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for administering contracts and ensuring effective cost management strategies are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the contract manager in providing effective support to project management teams by ensuring that contracts are administered in accordance with contractual obligations and effective cost management strategies.
  • Carry out pre-tender activities in the award of trade packages by conducting site show rounds and ensuring the completeness of tender drawings/documents.
  • Seek clarifications with respective consultants regarding discrepancies in the scope of work and drawings, and replace all addendum drawings and BQ pages after clarifications.
  • Seek quotations from respective trades and follow up on submission of quotations.
  • Take up quantities as per BQ and detailed breakdown in the Excel sheet.
  • Review tender pricing with contract manager, understand project schedule, profit margin, and goodwill discount, attend tender interviews, and go through tender reply with contract manager and prepare reply accordingly.
  • Review letter of appointments, contract drawings, and documents, and highlight any deviation from the tender.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and brief the scope of works with project team and management.
  • Make arrangements for insurance, factory license, bond, and pre-construction survey, fit-out deposit if required.
  • Follow up on making arrangements for sample submission.
  • Attend consultant meetings with Project Manager.
  • Negotiate with respective suppliers and appoint specialist sub-contractors based on trade.
  • Ensure timely submission of VO cost on a day-to-day or weekly basis and communicate with the project manager, timely submission of monthly progress claims, and final account closing.
  • Submit progress claims on a monthly basis.
  • Follow up effectively on payment certificates and payments with clients.
  • Certify sub-contractor claims based on site progress and quantity.
  • Request AI/EI with respective consultants.
  • Attend internal and external project closure meetings with consultants.
  • Submit warranty based on contractual terms.
  • Ensure PMs submission of as-built drawings and OM manual.
  • Follow through with the landlord on refund of fit-out deposit.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of contract administration and cost management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
