We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center Healthcare. This role is responsible for ensuring the hospital maintains high standards of patient care and safe conditions through compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and quality improvement and education.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide education and training to staff on regulatory compliance and quality improvement principles.
- Investigate and address patient safety issues, grievances, and civil rights complaints.
- Facilitate improvement initiatives, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Action Plan (ACA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Develop and maintain reports and data to track compliance and quality improvement metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field required or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years' experience in a clinical position in a Joint Commission accredited hospital or other similar healthcare environment.
- At least 3 years' experience in accreditation/regulatory/certification coordination and preparedness and/or risk management, performance improvement or patient safety.
- Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance, action planning, mock surveys, and readiness planning.
- Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) within 1 year.
- Certification in Healthcare Risk Management within 2 years (CPHRM).
- A combination of office environment and patient care areas.
- Reliable transportation.
