Job Summary

USA Health is seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting routine diagnostic procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine diagnostic procedures, including CT scans, X-rays, and other imaging modalities
  • Maintain competency in all imaging equipment and supplies, including CT fluoroscopy, power injector, and post-processing software
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, family, staff, and self, according to prescribed safety standards
  • Recognize emergency situations and initiate code procedures as needed
  • Perform patient assessment and screening, including allergies, potential drug interactions, and lab requirements
  • Review patient's prior imaging and history to ensure appropriate exam is ordered
  • Maintain aseptic or sterile technique when performing invasive procedures
  • Directly assist the Radiologist during procedures
  • Prepare patients for intravenous (IV) injections and administer IV contrast per approved protocols
  • Administer oral and/or rectal contrast in Radiology and/or CT per approved protocols and the order of licensed practitioner
  • Maintain competency in point of care testing (POCT) for creatinine/eGFR testing
  • Follow all CAP and CLIA guidelines in the performance of point of care testing (POCT) for creatinine/eGFR testing on outpatients
  • Recognize and appropriately respond to extravasation of IV contrast, ensuring proper treatment and notifying the patient's healthcare provider
  • Review CPOE and written orders checking for special instructions from physicians and consult with physicians as needed
  • Review images and consult with radiologist when pathology seen may require protocol revision
  • Accurately critique images to determine diagnostic quality and adjust factors if imaging is to be repeated
  • Adhere to established protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform or assist with the performance of accreditation requirements for the American College of Radiology (ACR)
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an approved course in Radiologic Technology
  • Three years of experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures
  • Completion of an approved program in advanced modality or one year of experience in advanced modality
  • Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Advanced registry is highly preferred, and may be required for certain modalities
