Behavioral Health Technician #30

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a vital role in providing patient-centered care within the Behavioral Health Departments at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. As a member of the unit treatment team, the BHT is responsible for delivering trauma-informed care, facilitating group interactions, and utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques to support vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care under the direction of the RN, prioritizing patient-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
- Facilitate group interactions and individual patient support, promoting a culture of safety and treatment excellence.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage crisis situations and ensure patient and visitor safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote a culture of safety and treatment excellence.
- Associate's degree in Social Services or a related field, or 60 college credits.
- At least 6 months of experience in nursing, behavioral health, or customer service.
- Current certification in Heart Saver/CPR BLS according to American Heart Association standards.
- Completion of training in Preventing & Managing Crisis Situations (PMCS).
