Behavioral Health Specialist

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a vital role in providing patient-centered care within the Behavioral Health Departments at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. This position requires a skilled and compassionate individual to work collaboratively with the treatment team to promote a culture of safety and treatment excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care under the direction of the RN, utilizing trauma-informed and patient-centered approaches.
- Facilitate individual interactions and group sessions, utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques with a vulnerable population.
- Conduct patient and visitor searches, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
- Associate's degree in Social Services or a health-related field, or 60 college credits.
- At least 6 months of experience in nursing, behavioral health, or customer service.
- Current certification in Heart Saver/CPR BLS, according to American Heart Association standards.
- Completion of training in Preventing & Managing Crisis Situations (PMCS).
